P7’s Honour Roll Programme

Our Primary 7 pupils participated in The Honour Roll programme alongside Dungannon Primary School. Coaches Mac and Jack from Sport Changes Life, delivered a fantastic sports and transition programme which proved to be a huge success with the pupils. Their final ‘Celebration’ day, saw them travel to Belfast for their first P7 trip. They were given a full stadium tour of Windsor Park, followed by a delicious meal and presentation in the Balmoral Hotel. The pupils fully engaged in all aspects of the programme and are extremely grateful to Apex and Radius Housing for funding this.

Mary’s Meals

On Friday 28th January 2022 our Student Council presented the Mary's Meals charity with over £500 in donations. Thank you to Pat McNeill who met with our Student Council on Friday to explain that Mary's Meals aims to provide chronically hungry children with one meal every school day. This encourages the children to engage in an education that can lift them out of poverty in later years.

It costs £15.90 to feed a child for a whole school year. Thanks to your efforts, we are pleased to be able to feed 31 children this year school year in Malawi. We will continue to promote Mary’s Meals by putting any loose change that we may have into the blue collection cups in each class.

The Kindness Postbox

This year the Primary 7year group are participating in The Kindness Postbox project. The aim of the project is to bring little bursts of happiness to the most isolated in our society. Through the project, we are linked with the residents of Fairfield’s Nursing Home in Cookstown.

During the month of December, the children were very busy designing and writing their own Christmas cards, baubles and letters. When the Kindness Postbox arrived in school, they were extremely excited to post their messages in the hope of bringing a little joy to someone special. In early January, the children received their replies from the residents. The video below is a little snapshot of the wonderful project.
